Car Hire Agreement
All vehicle rentals in Blackpool are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance details, and any applicable charges, as well as your responsibilities for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To hire a vehicle in Blackpool, you must be at least 21 years old, although age requirements may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra charges applicable for drivers under 25. A valid, full driving licence is necessary, along with identification and proof of your current address. You will also need to provide valid payment details and a security deposit, as well as meet any other criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, by phone, or at our Blackpool office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are generally collected at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment platforms.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and both parties will sign it. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated, and charges will be applied as necessary. Ensure that the fuel level matches what was recorded at the start of your rental; refueling fees will be incurred if the vehicle is returned with less fuel. Late returns may attract extra charges, so please reach out to us if you foresee any delays. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or additional charges that arise during your rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. The Rental Agreement outlines full coverage details and excess amounts. Additional insurance options may be available to further limit your financial responsibility. It is wise to review these options closely. You are liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage applies. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance status.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. For specific details, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in other risky behaviors. Transporting hazardous materials is also prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, the vehicle should not be used for purposes it was not designed for, nor should passenger or weight limits be exceeded. Operating the vehicle outside of the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Blackpool will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claim will not exceed the total amount paid for your rental within the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
Governing Law in Blackpool
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
